Vishal Ochani is a Physician’s Assistant at New York Spine Institute (NYSI). He works closely with NYSI’s world renowned surgeons assisting them with spinal, neurosurgery and orthopedic procedures. He also is an integral part of the team that diagnosis and assesses, treats and managing cases relating to pain pathologies, neurological deficits and spinal related injuries as well as evaluates imaging (including X-rays, MRI, CT scans) and prescribes medications.
Ochani is a trusted professional among his fellow doctors, surgeons and patients. He has treated patients from all demographics and diverse backgrounds. Many members of his family were involved in the health care and medical profession. This along with an interest in science led him to become a Physicians’ Assistant. Early on he was drawn to sports medicine and orthopedic surgery.
He has experience working in pediatrics, internal medical, OB/GYN, behavioral health, primary care and general surgery as well as performing procedures including suture removals, stapling, foreign body removals and drainage of abscess/masses.
Ochani is licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).
Ochani received he bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in biology from Stony Brook University and his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of St. Francis, in New Mexico.
