Dr. Bestin Kuriakose earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following medical school, he completed an Internal Medicine internship at Stamford Hospital – Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. He then pursued a residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, where he served as the academic chief resident in his final year. Dr. Kuriakose further specialized by completing a fellowship in Interventional Spine Medicine at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
At New York Spine Institute, Dr. Kuriakose specializes in minimally invasive procedures and innovative treatment modalities aimed at improving patient outcomes and quality of life. His clinical expertise lies in the management of musculoskeletal disorders, chronic pain, and neurological conditions, where he offers comprehensive care and specialized therapeutic interventions.
Dr. Kuriakose pursued Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation with a focus on spine and joint health, recognizing these as critical areas of injury and sources of pain and dysfunction. His dedication to improving patients’ quality of life and helping them return to activities they enjoy was a significant factor in his decision to pursue a career in medicine. With a strong passion for sports, Dr. Kuriakose has a particular interest in treating athletic-related injuries.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kuriakose has served both in private and academic settings, including training at and providing care for veterans at the Northport Veteran Affairs Medical Center. He has held membership with multiple professional medical societies and his research and case reports have been published and presented at regional and national conferences.
A Long Island native, Dr. Kuriakose remains deeply committed to serving his community as a physician at the New York Spine Institute.
