Here at the NYSI our state of the art radiology department includes a high field short bore 1.5T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system. This system is effective in diagnosing many conditions and supports a wide range of clinical applications including, but not limited to, MRIs of the spine, brain, abdomen, pelvis, shoulder, hip, knee, elbow, wrist, hand, ankle and foot*. The MRI system is every bit safe as it is noninvasive, and is an innovative tool used by our doctors for providing comfortable treatment for our patients. This new GE 1.5T MRI system provides our physicians with high quality, detailed pictures of anatomy and pathology they require in their efforts to help evaluate a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders.
The MRI system utilizes magnetism and radio waves to produce detailed images used to evaluate various parts of the body and determine the presence of certain diseases which may not be visible with other imaging methods such as x-ray, ultrasound or CT (Computed Tomography).*
We are also equipped with a digital radiography department that is used to capture digital images that allow the radiologist to analyze bone and soft tissue anatomy for diagnosis. Further to our equipment, we also have Long Length Imaging (LLI) for proper scoliosis assessment as well.
