Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is an advanced technology used for diagnosing many conditions. Safe and noninvasive, an MRI allows our radiologist to analyze images of both bone and soft tissue anatomy. The state of the art diagnostic imaging here at the NYSI contributes to the individualized care of each of our patients. Our diagnostic imaging equipment consists of a high field short bore 1.5T MRI system and a Digital Radiography (DX) x-ray, with the 1.5T system supporting multiple clinical applications such as MRI’s of the Spine, Brain, Abdomen, Pelvis, Shoulder, Knee, Hip, Elbow, Wrist, Hand, Ankle and Foot.*
This new system here in the Seaford clinic also provides our physicians with high quality, detailed pictures of anatomy and pathology which aid in their evaluations of various musculoskeletal disorders.
These MRIs are safe, painless, and non-invasive and have been proven to be very valuable for diagnosing a broad range of conditions as well as determining the presence of diseases which are not typically visible with x-rays, ultrasounds or Computed Tomography (CT).* Our digital radiology department is also equipped with Long Length Imaging (LLI) used for scoliosis assessments.
