Here at the NYSI we have a state of the art radiology department that includes a high field short bore 1.5T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system which is ideal for diagnosing many conditions and supports a wide range of clinical applications including, but not limited to, MRIs of the spine, brain, abdomen, pelvis, shoulder, hip, knee, elbow, wrist, hand, ankle and foot*. The MRI is both safe and noninvasive, and is an innovative tool used by our doctors for providing comfortable treatment for our patients. Our new GE 1.5T system provides our physicians with high quality, detailed pictures of anatomy and pathology to help evaluate a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders.
The MRI system is a safe, painless, non-invasive exam that utilizes magnetism and radio waves to produce detailed images used to evaluate various parts of the body and determine the presence of certain diseases which may not be visible with other imaging methods such as x-ray, ultrasound or CT (Computed Tomography).*
Our facility also has a digital radiography department that is used to capture images that are digitized to allow the radiologist to analyze bone and soft tissue anatomy for diagnosis and is also equipped with Long Length Imaging (LLI) for proper scoliosis assessment as well.
