Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) helps NYSI when diagnosing many conditions, as it is a safe and noninvasive method for treating patients. As a very comfortable process, it is able to analyze images for bone and soft tissue anatomy that the radiologist is given from a digital radiology department. This state-of-the-art diagnostics are partnered with individualized care to be the services provided by NYSI’s diagnostic imaging.
Offered by New York Spine Institute, a high field short bore 1.5T MRI system and Digital Radiography (DX) x-ray in MT Vernon, is used for our state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging tool.
This system supports a wide range of clinical applications and can provide MRI’s of: the Spine, Brain, Abdomen, Pelvis, Shoulder, Knee, Hip, Elbow, Wrist, Hand, Ankle and Foot.*
New York Spine Institute has a brand new GE 1.5T system that has the capabilities to help evaluate a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders. Through the process of providing our physicians with high quality detailed pictures of anatomy and pathology.
Detailed images are able to be produced through this safe, painless, non-invasive exam in the case of diagnosing a broad range of conditions. MRI’s utilize magnetism and radio waves when evaluating various parts of the body to determine the presence of certain diseases. Some of the few imaging methods that we may use in order to get these results visible are: X-ray, ultrasound or CT (Computed Tomography).*
Our main goal, in the end, is to provide a relaxing and calming environment for our patients. All of this is individualized to the point of choice of music, earplugs and a sleeping mask; anything that can make you feel comfortable, as if our office was your own home.
The analysis of bone and some soft tissue anatomy is able to be done through our digital radiography department; and after this process our radiologists are able to digitize the images that they capture. Another exam that we may provide in order to do a proper scoliosis assessment is Long Length Imaging (LLI).
