Dr. Ventrudo joined New York Spine Institute in 2018 as a Pain Management Specialist performing interventional procedures and the medical management of pain. He is also a certified acupuncturist and has extensive experience in treating sports and spine-related injuries. As an interventional pain medicine physician, Dr. Ventrudo takes a multidisciplinary approach to provide a full range of treatments and services to patients suffering from chronic or acute pain. This philosophy fits perfectly with NYSI’s comprehensive approach to patient care.
He is highly skilled in performing procedures to alleviate pain such as joint injections, nerve blocks, and facet injections using fluoroscopy. This imaging technique helps identify and isolate specific areas of pain for more targeted and precise treatment that is more comfortable for patients.
A retired Commissioned Lieutenant in the United States Naval Reserve, Dr. Ventrudo previously was the Medical Director at his alma mater, New York Maritime College, where he served as the team physician for all varsity sports.
Dr. Ventrudo belongs to numerous professional medical organizations, including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, and the New York Society of Acupuncture for Physicians and Dentists. He received his medical training at Montefiore Medical Center’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation program and completed a Neuromuscular/Pain Fellowship at New York University Medical
Center as well as a surgical internship at a level one trauma center. He earned his medical degree from American University of the Caribbean Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Dublin Ireland.
