IMAGING SERVICES FOR WYANDANCH PATIENTS

The radiology department here at the NYSI is state of the art and includes a high field short bore 1.5T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system which is effective in diagnosing many conditions and supports a wide range of clinical applications including, but not limited to, MRIs of the spine, brain, abdomen, pelvis, shoulder, hip, knee, elbow, wrist, hand, ankle and foot*.

Utilizing magnetism and radio waves the MRI system produces detailed images that doctors can use to evaluate various parts of the body and determine the presence of certain diseases which may not be visible with other imaging methods such as x-ray, ultrasound or CT (Computed Tomography).*

The radiology department here at the NYSI is also equipped with Long Length Imaging (LLI) for proper scoliosis assessment and a digital radiography department that is used to capture digital images that radiologists use to analyze bone and soft tissue anatomy for diagnosis.
