Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a helpful diagnostic tool for many conditions. This procedure is noninvasive, comfortable, quick, and most importantly, safe. The MRI allows radiologists to get an inside look at bones and soft tissue. Our state-of-the-art digital radiology department provides individualized care in line with NYSI’s mission and advanced diagnostic and imaging tools.
MRIs have grown in popularity over the last few decades for their ability to assist in accurate diagnosis of numerous conditions. The safe and painless procedure is able to produce detailed images that allow for visibility of certain conditions which may otherwise be undetectable through X-Ray, ultrasound, or CT scan. *
New York Spine Institute serving Valley Stream utilizes a high-field short-bore 1.5T MRI system and Digital Radiography (DX) X-Ray technology. The high field short bore 1.5T MRI system can be used for a wide range of clinical applications, including but not limited to: spine, brain, abdomen, pelvis, shoulder, knee, hip, elbow, wrist, hand, ankle, foot. *
The NYSI is proud to offer the brand new GE 1.5T system, which is able to evaluate a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders through high quality, detailed picturing of inside anatomy.
Additionally, select NYSI locations offer a digital radiography department. Digital radiography is able to capture and digitize images, providing the radiologist an easy way to analyze inner bone and tissue anatomy. In a similar vein, we also offer Long Length Imaging (LLI) to assist in the assessment of scoliosis.
Aside from providing patients with an accurate diagnosis and customized treatment plan, our top priority is individualized care and overall comfort and safety. We offer the option of providing our patients who undergo imaging with choice of music, earplugs, and a sleeping mask to keep you relaxed and comfortable.
